Update: Alas, we didn't win. According to LinuxWorld, ``Choosing Apache as the winner was a no-brainer.''

Squid received an ``Editor's Choice Award'' in an evaluation of Web proxy caches by Network Computing Magazine. Unfortunately, this is a bittersweet moment for us, since they also used our Web Polygraph software for the performance testing, but their test was pretty bogus.

April 2, 1999

Squid participated in the The First Semi-Annual Web Caching Bake-off. During the testing we sustained a throughput of 96 requests per second under the Polygraph workload. Please see the full report for all the details.
